Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Sr. Financial Analyst-Clinical Finance, FP&A.
In this role, the successful candidate as the Senior Financial Analyst - Financial Planning will report to the Director of Financial Planning and will liaisewith clinical, finance, and administrative leadership teams to ensure that business planning, analytical, andforecasting needs are met for NYU Langone Hospitals and Schools of Medicine. This includes the productionof Profit/Loss statements, Cash models, and statistical reports related to patient volume & hospital utilization.Also expected is the preparation of complex business plans, including NYS DOH Certificate of Needschedules, for new facilities or clinical services. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal andanalytical skills, a deep understanding of hospital finance, and the ability to communicate complex financialinformation effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key contributor in the development of operating and capital business plans.
- Serve as a project lead, leveraging appropriate stakeholders for any required Certificates of Need.
- Assist in the preparation and completion of the annual operating budget, rolling forecast, and longrange
plan for hospital sites. - Implement budgeting and financial planning methodologies, as needed. Perform scenario/sensitivity
analysis on planning assumptions. - Collaborate with site finance leadership to validate and refine revenue and expense budget baselines
and targets. - Incorporate any known new/incoming business lines into go-forward projections prepared by Financial
Planning Department. - Maintain health system volume and utilization projections in budget targets & forecasts.
- Work with managed care department to understand and utilize contractual information relevant to
hospital reimbursement for both acute care and cancer services. - Partner with site finance teams to improve and standardize analytics to align reporting across NYULH
Hospital campuses. - Incorporate new technologies, systems, and processes to improve the daily operation of the Finance
department. - Liaise with Hospital Leadership to inform strategic financial decisions across our business.
- Special projects, reports, and ad hoc analyses, as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelors degree with a major in a business subject (e.g. accounting, finance, economics) and 3-5 years of related experience. A graduate in business or public administration is preferred. Other minimum qualifications include: excellent oral and written communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving skills, and a comprehensive knowledge all applications within Microsoft Office; specifically with Excel. He or She must know vlookups, pivot tables, sub-totals, and other Excel functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge in hospital operations, patient revenue, and clinical expense models.
Familiarity with financial planning, budgeting, and/or forecasting methodologies.
Experience working within a large health system or hospital finance department.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $81,317.60 - $96,296.20 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
