BASIC FUNCTION:

The Senior Portfolio Analyst on the Debt Capital Markets team will, with the guidance of the Debt Capital Markets Leader will work collaboratively, and when necessary, independently on the underwriting activities of a buy-side debt portfolio. Job responsibilities will include: (i) general business and economic analyses; (ii) financial analysis and modeling; (iii) business valuations; (iv) processing loan applications and credit report writing; (v) and loan legal documentation. The position requires preparation and presentation of credit package to Relationship Managers (RMs) or committees. The position includes a broad range of servicing and monitoring responsibilities, including assisting RMs with account servicing, credit administration, and loan documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develops credit information for use by RM and/or committees in making lending decisions on new loans, renewal loans, miscellaneous loan servicing actions and restructuring actions. Co-sponsors credit recommendation with RM.
  • Reviews all pertinent credit and financial information; determines the need for more thorough investigation or additional information; analyzes financial statements, forecasts and related material; prepares summaries, presents facts, and offers opinions concerning eligibility, return, credit structure and overall creditworthiness. Prepares complete credit package for loan committee allowing sufficient time for review and decisioning.
  • Performs credit administration, account servicing as it relates to Salesforce and nCino data quality and integrity. Ongoing monitoring and financial review of assigned portfolio. Keeps RMs informed of financial trends and compliance.
  • Reviews credit agreements and other loan and participation documents to ensure alignment with approved credit actions.
  • Provides timely response to internal or external account requests.
  • Maintains strong working and collaborative relationships among deal teams and cross-functional departments.
  • Maintains expertise in assigned market segments, keeping abreast of industry trends.
  • Participates in the training and development of other Association staff and reviews the work of others as assigned.
  • Attends lender meetings and industry events as necessary.
  • May work on other projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other functions/duties as assigned.

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

Generally, exercises no supervision. Makes independent decisions; works under the general direction of the Debt Capital Markets Leader. May mentor or train other staff.

TYPICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree, majors in finance, business or related field is preferred. Familiar with accounting principles, and banking policies, procedures and processes.
  • 7 years of prior experience in credit/financial analysis work.
  • Demonstrated skills in cash flow, balance sheet, profitability, liquidity, and solvency analysis is required.
  • General knowledge of agriculture and/or agribusiness is preferred.
  • Demonstrated analytical and statistical skills to evaluate, prioritize and categorize data in various formats. Working knowledge of Excel or similar spreadsheet and analytical software is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines is required.
  • Knowledge of FCA regulations, association and district policies and procedures is required.
  • Strong communication skills, including written and verbal, are required.
  • Strong persuasive and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Proficient in the use of PC, including word processing, e-mail and electronic spreadsheet software.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks and work in a typical office setting. Employee will be sitting for extended periods of time and accomplishing work at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period of time. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Some lifting and moving of items up to 25 pounds required. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Travel required in performance of job. PART-TIME REMOTE/HYBRID: These employees will work partly remote and partly onsite. Part-time remote employees will work with their managers to determine when and how often they are needed onsite.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $98,644.40 - Max $171,887.88 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

  • Reflected is the national base pay range and title offered for this job at the current level.

  • Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.

  • Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
