Overview

The Newport Engineering Office (NEO) is seeking a candidate who will be responsible for providing the Navy Customer with Configuration Management (CM) services for OHIO SSBN/SSGN Class Non-Propulsion Electronic System (NPES) Alterations. Selected candidate will be responsible for reviewing Engineering Changes (EC), Temporary ECs, and Software Updates (SU) to ensure accuracy of the CM data and compliance with OHIO Class requirements; hardware configuration audits; software configuration inspections; and maintenance of Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) records in government databases.

Selected candidate must regularly interface with EB System Engineering, Planning Yard, Program Acquisition Resource Managers (PARM), alteration developers and the Navy Customer to resolve or better understand CM issues. Selected candidate will participate in technical and programmatic meetings requiring local travel and occasional off-site travel.

This position is located at EB's Newport Engineering Office and on-site at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Division Newport (DIVNPT).



Qualifications

Required:

    High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of Configuration Management (CM) OR Navy Material Maintenance Management (3M) experience

Preferred:

  • Technical background in OHIO Class or VIRGINIA Class Submarine Non-Propulsion Electronic System experience, its components, and submarine operational experience
  • Experience with Ship Alterations and Engineering Changes
  • Working knowledge of the Navy's Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) Submarine Acquisition System (SAS)
  • Working knowledge of CM practices and CSA requirements
