Anticipated Wage: $24.49- $24.50/hr

SUMMARY:

Lubricate and maintain equipment. Inspect equipment and identify preventative maintenance needs. Communicate with co-workers and operations about problems. Keep daily maintenance log by documenting service of equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

All of the following are to be performed while adhering to Tree Top operational policies, safety rules, procedures and good manufacturing practices.

It is the responsibility of every employee at Tree Top Inc. to report food safety and food quality problems or risks to personnel with the authority to initiate action against these said possible risks. The Organization chart indicated key personnel with the authority to take action.

This is a representative sample--not to imply a complete listing of all responsibilities and tasks.



  1. Lubricate Equipment On A Daily Basis

    • Grease bearings, gears, etc.
    • Lubricate chains, gear boxes and machinery as required
    • Refill Gearboxes when needed
    • Fill oil reservoirs when needed
    • Grease Urchels every 2 hours
    • Check chains to determine oil needed
    • Utilize tools to perform lubrication: grease guns, mechanical tools, oil cans, etc.





  1. Communicate Effectively

    • Receive information from Supervisor and mechanics regarding lubing or maintenance needs
    • Discuss problems/issues with Supervisor
    • Notify mechanics of problems
    • Communicate with Parts Expediter regarding supplies
    • Receive information from co-workers
    • Complete daily log





  1. Inspect And Adjust Equipment As Needed

    • Observe equipment while walking through area
    • Get mechanic to adjust packing belts and chains as needed
    • Get mechanic to adjust conveyors as needed





  1. Maintain Equipment

    • Assist mechanics as needed
    • Perform checks for preventative maintenance
    • Notify maintenance of equipment malfunction
    • Drain and refill gear boxes as needed
    • Change grease lines and fittings as needed
    • Rebuild Urchel cutter heads





  1. Maintain Forklifts On A Daily Basis

    • Review daily forklift operator logs and perform/arrange for repairs as needed





  1. Perform odd jobs As Needed

    • Patrol building to maintain GMPs
    • Pick up needed parts as required
    • Talk with supervisors for information on additional jobs requested
    • Make sure all forklifts, pallet jacks, and scrubbers are properly maintained.





  1. Maintain GMPS

    • Perform both on-going and week-ending sanitation duties as required
    • Use proper cleaning/sanitizing chemical-handling procedures and equipment
    • Maintain a clean work area; keep floors swept, brooms, squeegees, etc. in proper place; empty trash cans/bins as needed
    • Adhere to GMP standards throughout the entire plant





  1. Ensure Food Safety by Following HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points)

    • Maintain personal cleanliness, wash hands frequently, wear hairnet, wear sanitary gloves
    • Do not store chemicals too close to food products
    • Avoid spilling oil or cleaning fluids on food products
    • Avoid cross-contamination
    • Follow color code policy
    • Follow proper procedures, practices, training
    • Be familiar with all process flow diagrams





  1. Lock-Out Tag-Out

    • Make sure to have a complete and clear understanding of all Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures
    • Use proper Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures at all times (washing/cleaning machinery, etc.)




QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:



  • Basic ability to read, write, and use numbers, and up through thirty days position-related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:



  • Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:



  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide two digit numbers.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:



  • Washington State Driver's License
  • Forklift Certification


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to distribute lubrication properly, distance vision to monitor operation of equipment from a distance, depth perception for climbing stairs and forklift driving, and the ability to adjust focus to perform all essential functions of the job properly.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, risk of electrical shock, and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
