Position Summary Boynton Health is seeking a strong, accomplished clinical medical leader to serve as the Senior Director of Clinical Services. This leader will champion student and patient-centered responsive health care through a team based approach. This position will provide strategic direction and oversight for clinical services and collaborate with other leaders to foster, promote, and engage in health and wellness activities at Boynton and across the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. The Senior Director of Clinical Services will leverage the clinic's strengths and demonstrate a commitment to innovation & effectiveness. Boynton Health is looking for clinical leadership that focuses on the current and future state of health services that meets the needs all students. Overview of Responsibilities Clinical Authority and Leadership (35%)
Direct Patient Care in Urgent and Primary Care (35%) The scope of practice for the Physician may include, but is not limited to the following for which privileges are granted annually according to state law. For example: taking patient histories; performing physical examinations; interpreting and evaluating patient data; ordering or performing diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures (i.e., biopsy, minor surgery, wound care); prescribing, administering, and dispensing prescription and nonprescription medications and medical devices; diagnosing and treating illnesses, infectious diseases, minor trauma, and chronic conditions or diseases; issuing patient referrals to other providers within and outside of Boynton Health; providing contraceptive services, including emergency contraception; educating patients on health promotion, disease prevention, current treatments, importance of compliance, and answering questions; follow-up and review of test results with patients; consulting with other physicians and/or health care professionals; assisting in mentoring and supervising the clinical work clinic providers.
