Procurement Manager

Purpose:

Valkyrie is hiring for a Procurement Manager to join our team supporting project solutions in our Norfolk Virginia location and base of operations.

Job Description:

Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with organizational objectives.
Manage the procurement team and oversee daily operations to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities.
Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure the best terms and conditions.
Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Collaborate with internal departments to forecast procurement needs and develop budgets.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in procurement.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.

Qualifications:

Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with CostPoint, preferred.
Proficiency in MS SharePoint and Teams, preferred.

Security Requirements:

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel- less than 10%
If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, and laboratory environment.
Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods, moving about to accomplish tasks, or moving from one worksite to another.
Work that includes moving objects that are 20 pounds.

Pay Range: $105,000 - $115,000 per year
