Title: Quality Improvement Specialist - MIHP $66,539.20 - $99,320 /Posted Thru: 11/14/2025 Location: Remote/Virtual - Must Work and Live in the State of Michigan Purpose: The MIHP Quality Improvement Specialist will oversee the new Provider Application Process and Certification Review process for the Maternal Infant Health Program (MIHP) agencies. This Specialist will conduct quality improvement efforts aimed at improving the internal processes of the MIHP within the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), and of services being rendered by MIHP agencies statewide. This Specialist will perform project coordination responsibilities under the guidance of the Maternal Infant Health Unit Manager and Perinatal and Infant Health Section Manager. The MIHP Quality Improvement Specialist will coordinate and support the program's strategic planning, implementation, monitoring, collaboration, and evaluation, and serve as a MDHHS representative. Duties and Responsibilities:
Qualifications/Requirements: Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing with current license as a registered nurse in the State of Michigan or Bachelor's degree in Social Work required, Master's degree preferred. Experience: A minimum of four years of professional experience in maternal and child health, addressing maternal and child health needs of low- income and/or minority populations and experience in project management. At least four years of experience successfully implementing quality improvement projects. Experience addressing disparities in health outcomes. Experience improving population health via a case management framework. Important Skills and Characteristics:
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:Remote working (subject to change to in office working) with occasional in-person meetings and engagements. Requires travel across the state, on occasion. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: No assigned responsibility. IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS:This position has a direct impact on the quality of services provided by MPHI to MDHHS.
