Job Summary:

Coordinate all aspects of facility goals and objectives in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS).
Coordinate actions with appropriate personnel to respond to customer material compliance requests and ensure the Division's ongoing compliance with regulations.

Job Summary:
The position includes review, evaluation, and cataloguing of the Tucson facility's injection molding tooling.

Job Duties:

  • Institute a tool inspection and tracking system to facility total productive maintenance of mold tooling.
  • Assist the molding team with optimizing injection molding parameters to optimize the production of quality molded parts.
  • Have a sound understanding of various types of mold tooling their proper design.
  • Review and evaluate existing injection molds for wear, damage, and expected longevity.
  • Compare mold tooling against tool drawings and updating drawings as needed.
  • Conduct basic to intermediate level maintenance on mold tooling and coordinate extensive mold repair with outside tool makers.
  • Utilize experience and a sound understanding of mold tooling and their proper design to coordinate with mold makers to insure the delivery of robust molds.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a mold engineer, mold maker, and/or senior mold technician in the injection molding industry.
  • Experience with tool design and building for plastic injection molding.
  • Experience with mold repair.
  • Experience with injection molding of PFA and PVDF is preferred.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modelling is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to read, interpret and update complex tooling drawings.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance, evaluations of injection mold tooling.
  • Ability to perform mold tooling repair.
  • Ability to communicate and work well as a member of an injection molding facility team.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires frequent standing.
  • Frequent lifting up to 20 pounds.
  • Good dexterity and attention to detail through visual inspection.
  • Job requires employee to work with coolants, medium noise level.
