However, any non-permanent employee hired to work 30 or more hours per week for three months or more (cumulative of all positions, and not designated as variable hour worker), must be offered the chance to enroll in the High Deductible Health Plan, within 30 days of their eligibility. Any non-permanent employee hired to work less than 30 hours per week (cumulative of all positions or designated as variable hour worker - i.e. student workers) are measured during designated measurement periods. | Duties and Responsibilities |
Primary Purpose of Position:
The Credit for Prior Learning Manager plays a key role in supporting the academic and professional goals of learners by implementing policy and processes for recommending academic credit for prior college-level learning. The position will accurately maintain and regularly update credit recommendations of non-credit learning including professional development courses and microcredentials offered in the School of Professional Studies, industry certifications and similar programming according to recommended guidelines published by the American Council of Education (
ACE) and other recognized entities. The position will work in conjunction with the Office of the Registrar and the academic colleges to expand the database for alternative credit course equivalencies. The position manages the portfolio submission and review process and may make assignments to faculty reviewers and manage the payments for reviews.
Summary of Position Responsibilities:
The Credit for Prior Learning Manager responsibilities include developing, implementing, and managing the institution's
CPL program to support student success and degree completion. This role ensures that students receive appropriate credit for prior learning experiences, microcredentials, professional training, work experience, and other types of non-collegiate learning. The
CPL Manager works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external partners to uphold academic standards and ensure compliance with accrediting bodies, state, and federal regulations while expanding access to credit-earning opportunities. The role will support the institution's microcredential initiatives.
This is a primarily on-site position. Upon completion of training, the incumbent may be eligible for up to one day of telework per week, subject to leadership discretion and operational needs. |
| Other Work/Responsibilities |
Academic Credit - 40%
Maintain accurate documentation on the process for evaluation and recommendation of academic credit for professional development courses and microcredentials
Proactively engage with curriculum developers to create credit equivalencies and add those to the central database maintained by the Office of the Registrar
Support the microcredential development and review process to ensure opportunities for learners to earn credit
Communication and outreach - 20%
Provide written guidance to prospective and current students, faculty and staff on
CPL options and processes
Promote awareness of
CPL opportunities internally and externally by providing stories on learner success and economic impact
Prepare reports, presentations, and digital collateral for campus stakeholders
Portfolio Review Process - 20%
Manage the portfolio submission and review process for work-based learning.
Assign faculty reviewers for portfolio evaluations and manage the payment process for these reviews, if necessary
Maintain up to date documentation on the portfolio development and review process for learners, faculty and staff
Champion Transparent Credentialing - 20%
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of credit for prior learning initiatives
Maintain awareness of national trends and advances in the
