PCA Mills manufacture containerboard consisting of a variety of performance and specialty grades for a total of annual capacity of 5 million tons. General Summary Formulate company position on environmental matters & develop, organize & direct activities to implement them. Prerequisites Education: B.S. Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related Science Degree. Work Experience: Three (3) to Five (5) years of full time experience in a variety of environmental projects. Certificate/License: Professional Engineering License useful but not mandatory if other associates have it. Obtain and maintain Ohio Industrial Wastewater and Industrial Stormwater certifications. Skills: Knowledge of rules and regulations. Environmental experience, communication skills, negotiating skills, ability to formulate future plans. Training: One (1) to Two (2) years. Other: Knowledge of Pulp & Paper Industry and especially the processes at the Massillon Mill. Essential Functions The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to... 1. Keep up to date on all rules and regulations that affect the Massillon Mill. 2. Maintains compliance with all Mill environmental permits. 3. Organize and direct programs to assure compliance. 4. Oversee the operation of treatment plant. 5. Negotiate NPDES permit, air permits and other permits. 6. Compose and deliver official Company statements for public hearings, regulations, comment periods, and other outside environmental contacts. 7. Work with Safety Director, organize and direct Emergency Preparedness Program. 8. Serve on committees: County Emergency Preparedness, County Solid Waste, Ohio Pulp & Paper Environmental Council, State and US Chamber of Commerce, etc. 9. Prepare and submit all required reports, MOS, Tier II, Form R. Biennial Hazardous Waste, State Critical Materials, State Air, etc. 10. Provide technical assistance for solutions of mill process problems. Compensation and Benefits
