Job Title: Engineer II, Manufacturing Technical Services (MTS)

Location: Cambridge, MA (with travel to Norton, MA as required)

Schedule: Onsite/Hybrid


Job Summary

The Engineer II (MTS) supports late-stage and commercial drug product manufacturing within the Manufacturing Technical Services team. This position plays a key role in technology transfer, process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure robust, compliant, and efficient production.


Key Responsibilities


  • Support technology transfer, process scale-up, and optimization activities at Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).



  • Assist with deviation assessments, change control documentation, CAPA development, and risk evaluations.



  • Collect, analyze, and interpret process data; prepare detailed reports and technical summaries for internal and external partners.



  • Contribute to process validation, investigations, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.



  • Author and revise process control documents and effectively communicate updates across cross-functional teams.



  • Conduct laboratory experiments or small-scale studies to support development activities and technical investigations.




Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or engineering field (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or Pharmaceutical Sciences).



  • 2+ years of hands-on laboratory or GMP manufacturing experience.



  • Experience with technology transfer and working with external manufacturing partners strongly preferred.



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with JMP or other statistical analysis tools a plus.



  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.



  • Ability to meet lab safety standards and lift up to 50 lbs.
