Summary: A publicly traded leading media and entertainment organization with national presence is seeking aSenior Accountantto join itsgrowing accounting team. Doubled in size over the last 18 months due to significant M&A and strategic growth. This role involves performing core accounting functions, including participating in the month-end close process, preparing financial statements and reconciliations, ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls, and supporting audit functions and process improvements. The role follows a remote work schedule based out of the greater Charlotte area. Responsibilities: *Participate in the monthly and annual close and consolidation process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of our overall financial position. *Prepare and post various month end journal entries *Perform in-depth review and analysis of various income statement accounts. *Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research/correction of related accounting activity. *Research and resolve the proper accounting treatment for transactions relevant to assigned areas of responsibility in accordance with GAAP and established Company policy. *Engage in continuous process improvement efforts to streamline accounting processes. *Participate the development and documentation of business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. *Support new accounting and finance initiatives, including improvement of statutory audit process, and accounting for leases; recommend and implement improvements as needed. *Coordinate effectively with the external audit team. *Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as requested. Requirements: *Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance *Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred, but not required *4+ years of relevant accounting and/or analyst experience *Basic knowledge of U.S. GAAP *Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications *Previous experience in general ledger management, monthly close processes, and leases is a plus Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
