Position Summary: Responsible for assisting with the implementation and effective operation of the New Flyer Quality Assurance program. Critical to the maintenance of the ISO Quality Management System. This position will require interface with both internal and external customers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Develops, implements and maintains all documentation required to satisfy the on-site ISO 9001:2015 Quality System with assistance from the Quality Assurance Director.
  • Responsible for directing and supervising employees involved in inspection and quality control procedures. Plan and assign work of direct reports.
  • Analyze facts or circumstances surrounding individual problems to determine what action should be taken within the limits of standard practices.
  • Investigate and determine cause of faulty work and consult and advise production supervisors as to corrective measures.
  • Maintain discipline, morale and harmonious relations among direct reports. Adjust personnel within area of responsibility. Effectively recommend as to hiring, promotions, wage adjustments and terminations.
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility. Including but not limited to RMAs, MRB and management of internal rework and/or scrap.
  • Organizes, schedules and reviews Internal Quality Audits and is responsible for the designation of Corrective Actions found in the Internal Audits.
  • Attend and support External Audits.
  • Drive and sustain all elements of the New Flyer Operational Excellence program (OpEx) within your assigned group, with particular focus on 5S as it's foundation, as elements of this program are introduced.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Must have post-secondary education in a related discipline and/or equivalent experience.
  • Must have five plus (5+) years working within a manufacturing business environment.
  • Must have three plus (3+) years' experience managing the quality function within a manufacturing environment.
  • Having an ASQ Certification is preferred.
  • Computer skills with Advanced MS Office skills are a must.
  • Ability to communicate and speak effectively are required.
  • Must have strong organization skills.
  • Walking, sitting, and other physical requirements related to essential functions of the job.
  • Must be able to conduct international travel as needed.

Travel: Up to 50% - Most travel is local during business hours. This position does require international travel.

Salary Pay: $69,000.00 annually
