The Finish Color Specialist is responsible for developing & ensuring finish colors meet specifications. Responsibilities: * Produce master & working color panels to correspond to customer request or sample. * Assist and advise KH project Managers while they are working with customers to determine best finish options for customer projects. i.e. specie, cut, match, sheen etc. * Owns the retain system. Reviews and updates retains (wet standards) as needed to match color panels. * Investigate root cause of finish color issues and work with production personnel and/or supplier to resolve across full supply chain. * Develop customer special finish per customer request; maintain color panels, formulas & materials to produce special finish once matched. * Verify finish material suppliers' pour down, spray out & tinting of incoming materials that are not to specification to ensure color consistency. Work with supplier sales tech to make necessary changes and adjustments. * Maintain and update all finish write up as colors are approved. * Catalogue and maintain information as required in Materials database. * Develop or specify of finish touch up materials. * Keep work space and equipment clean and well organized. * Perform proper preventive maintenance as required on any equipment being used. * Follow all safety guidelines and uses required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). * Support the Vision and Guiding Principles and other policies of Kimball International. * Support the Quality system. * Support our Environmental Management System (EMS).
