Position Summary
The Automation Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting intelligent automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform and Copilot technologies. This role focuses on transforming business processes through low-code applications, AI-driven copilots, and data integrations that enhance collaboration and productivity across the enterprise.
The Automation Developer will leverage Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents, and Copilot Studio to create scalable, secure, and innovative solutions. In addition to development, this role will serve as a Tier 3 subject matter expert (SME) providing advanced break/fix support, technical troubleshooting, and expert guidance for complex issues across the Power Platform and integrated systems such as ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Teams.
This position also supports aspects of integrations with Teams, SharePoint, as well as Power Platform administration, design, support, and training. The ideal candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, IT security, and compliance teams to ensure solutions meet organizational standards and governance requirements. This role requires a strong blend of hands-on technical expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to continuously improve the digital workplace through automation and AI innovation.
Main Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy innovative automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents, and Copilot Studio). Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements, map business processes, and identify opportunities for automation and AI-driven enhancement. Build and customize apps, forms, workflows, dashboards, and conversational copilots to streamline business operations. Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, SharePoint) and external systems using connectors, APIs, and third-party integrations. Implement business logic, data transformations, and security best practices within Power Platform solutions. Evaluate and recommend Power Platform licensing models to ensure optimal cost and functionality alignment. Provide Tier 3 break/fix support and serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for Power Platform-related incidents and escalations. Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing automation solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability. Implement updates, patches, and enhancements to maintain alignment with evolving business needs and platform updates. Support and administer Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, and Power Platform environments, including user management, governance, and training. Collaborate with IT security and compliance teams to maintain data integrity, ensure regulatory adherence, and support security monitoring efforts. Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user guides, and release notes. Stay current with emerging Power Platform, Copilot, and AI capabilities to drive continuous improvement & innovation. Participate in Agile development processes, sprint planning, and cross-functional collaboration sessions. Contribute to incident response and capacity planning, assisting in high-priority outage resolutions and proactive maintenance activities. Continuously assess and automate critical service testing to ensure stability during patching and upgrades. Other responsibilities will be included as part of Digital Workplace initiatives within the Collaboration & Automation space.
Job Requirements - MUST HAVE
2+ years of hands-on experience designing, developing, and supporting solutions within Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agents, and Copilot). Proven experience in custom app development, workflow automation, and environment administration across Power Platform and Microsoft 365. Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 ecosystem including Teams, SharePoint, and Power Platform integration. Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting for automation, administration, and environment management. Solid understanding of Power Platform governance, security, compliance, and environment management best practices. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues (Tier 3 support) and deliver break/fix solutions efficiently. Experience with SharePoint integration, data modeling, and using connectors, APIs, and Dataverse to connect enterprise systems. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across business, IT, and security teams. Proven ability to stay current with emerging Power Platform and Copilot technologies, applying innovation to drive process improvement. Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments and managing multiple priorities.
Education
Experience and Qualifications - NICE TO HAVE
Strong PowerShell or coding/scripting experience (e.g., JavaScript, C#, Python). Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Copilot, and Dynamics 365. Experience with data modeling, Dataverse, custom connectors, and API integrations. Familiarity with machine learning (ML) and AI-enhanced automation concepts. Background in systems automation, change management, and configuration control. Working knowledge of Azure Active Directory, Entra ID, and identity management. Experience with continuous engineering, DevOps, or Agile development methods. Strong communication skills with ability to convey technical ideas clearly. Microsoft certifications (PL-900, PL-400, PL-600) Ability to manage multiple initiatives effectively in a fast-paced environment.
OnSite - Camden NJ Compensation and Benefits: The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $88,100-$126,600
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
