DESCRIPTION

Department of Pediatrics is one of the largest departments within the UCSD School of Medicine with comprehensive clinical programs, extensive basic science and clinical research, and diverse educational opportunities for students, residents and fellows. The internationally renowned faculty play a major role in medical and graduate student training, providing educational and programmatic offerings that span several disciplines and provide diversity to meet the interests of a broad spectrum of students and scholars. More than one hundred trainees at the graduate student and postdoctoral level, as well as more than 300 professional, research and administrative staff who along with the department administrators interact closely with the faculty. Applies subject matter expertise of the medical registry and clinical specialty to maximize effectiveness of registry through implementing quality assurance processes and methods for data collection and storing to ensure registry compliance with regulatory agencies and improve reporting accuracy. Through complex analyzing, identifies areas for program clinical improvement.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Nine (9) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus five (5) years of related experience/training.

  • Advanced knowledge of the clinical and operational implications in the clinical registry, including data collection, medical center policies, regulatory requirements, and analysis methodologies. Ability to apply clinical registry knowledge and to specific situations.

  • Proven ability to apply knowledge and skills of clinical specialty to assess, monitor, investigate, and report program clinical quality. Proven ability to troubleshoot and test bugs in registry software.

  • Skilled communicator; includes verbal and written, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.

  • Advanced interpersonal skills. Skills to work collaboratively, coordinate and integrate with others throughout the organization and in national groups. Successful experience working with people with a wide range of backgrounds and skills.

  • In-depth knowledge of data analysis, research and reporting, particularly regarding clinical registries. Knowledge of clinical quality measures. Advanced analytical skills to do complex analysis.

  • Ability to make judgements with a high degree of independence and where policies are not always directly applicable. Recommends solutions to complex problems that require innovation and creativity to refine or enhance existing policies.

  • Advanced teaching skills. Ability to develop trainings that convey complex concepts in an understandable way.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $79,200 - $143,400 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $37.93 - $68.68

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
