LOCATION: Camp Ponderosa - Heber, Arizona STATUS: FT 36hrs/wk (schedule may be flexed to meet the needs of group rentals and camp programs) MISSION STATEMENT The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian Church. QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma/GED required, bachelor's degree preferred.
- Strong organization skills.
- Computer skills in an array of programs (Microsoft Office, Adobe, Mac) and the ability to learn Camp Management software.
- Competency and experience in social media content creation, including but not limited to Facebook and Instagram.
- Ability to gracefully communicate with the public and coworkers.
- Ability to convey Camp Ponderosa's mission via the tone of communications.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in tandem.
- Must be able to keep sensitive information confidential.
- Must be willing and able to work patiently alongside young summer staff members.
- Able to demonstrate respect and sensitivity towards diverse populations.
- Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor at all times.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to work weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES General
- Communicate with campers, group leaders, parents, and staff in a friendly and "happy to serve" tone.
- Answer camp phone when working and return calls that come through between shifts.
- Make contact with groups, vendors, parents, and internal contacts as requested.
- Communicate any and all pertinent information to the Camp Director or appropriate staff members in a timely manner.
- Assist with social media, creating content for posts and stories on a consistent basis (nearly daily).
- Engage with comments on social media, initiating conversations on other pages as appropriate.
- Stay well-versed in social media trends and updates.
- Track social media analytics and engagement to guide future content
- Assist in digitally monitoring and managing the front gate system.
- Maintain and update camp calendar.
- Coordinate and communicate incoming mail as needed.
Rental Specific
- Be the primary liaison between groups and camp as they prepare for their rental/retreat.
- Receive and respond to website inquiries, including rental requests.
- Facilitate initial contact between the Camp Director and new groups.
- Ensure that groups are turning in information (COIs, menus, forms, schedules, etc).
- Take notes at staff meetings to communicate pertinent information to the relevant parties.
- Welcome groups on arrival days, inform the Experience Manager of arrivals, and assist in the arrival and check-in process.
- On rental group days, work with the Camp Director & establish a central location (Cafe, Canteen, DH) to be available for guests.
- Disseminate group needs to the appropriate department heads (Food service, facilities, experience).
- Take a leading role in overseeing, updating, and managing camp software.
- Assist in the planning, preparation and closing of the summer season as needed and requested.
Summer Specific
- Receive and manage parent calls and report issues and concerns to the appropriate staff member(s).
- Take a leading role in the camper check-in and check-out process on arrival day.
- Help the Camp Director and Experience Manager communicate information to summer staff.
- Assist the DYS in ingesting incident reports and notices of concern into TSA systems.
- Continue to communicate and coordinate with rental groups as needed.
Any other duties assigned by the Camp Director as they relate to the position of Office & Communications Liaison.
