Role description
Analyze the existing environment and provide critical inputs to the Architect, Chief Engineer, or Enterprise Architect for developing the target architecture.
Prepare High-Level Designs (HLDs) for server migrations, including both physical and virtual environments.
Design migration solutions based on customer application and business requirements.
Work on new solution designs and data center migration initiatives across Windows, VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud platforms.
Design server refresh projects, migrating from older operating systems to the latest versions.
Contribute to data center consolidation, re-hosting, and re-platforming migration and refresh projects.
Lead data center migration design, planning, and execution activities.
Tools & Technologies
Expertise in migration tools such as Carbonite Migrate, VMware Converter, HCX, CloudEndure, and Azure/GCP/AWS migration tools.
Provide timely technical guidance and recommendations to enhance infrastructure stability.
Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design documents, standard operating procedures, and process flows.
Technical Leadership
Act as the technical lead on migration projects, working closely with multiple client teams.
Support new project transitions and onboarding activities.
Drive automation initiatives to eliminate repetitive tasks.
Requirements
8-10 years of IT experience.
Google Certified Cloud Architect is mandatory.
Extensive experience in workload migration, re-hosting, re-platforming, and infrastructure refresh projects.
Strong ability and preference to automate repetitive tasks using scripting or tools.
Strong understanding of modern systems architecture, including load balancing, queuing, caching, microservices, and distributed systems.
Experience with build/deploy tools used in migration workflows.
Familiarity with SQL and experience with RDS-DB2 or other database management systems.
Experience working in Agile teams and directly with clients.
Strong communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
