Overview

Own the assessment process for Navy Federal's senior leaders, using data-driven tools to strengthen internal selection, development, and succession decisions. To manage and facilitate implementation and coordination of moderately complex programs that affect and involve business unit activities. Ensure management review of initiatives from concept through planning, analysis, design, and testing, implementation, and transition phases. Manage program deliverables and solutions on schedule and within scope and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Own internal assessment strategies by working with stakeholders to understand both business and talent priorities, and creating practical assessment solutions and roadmaps that align with NFCU's talent strategy
  • Select, design, and implement assessments in collaboration with external vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Administer high-volume assessments to support leader identification and development, including 360-degree feedback and personality assessments
  • Analyze overall program effectiveness; identify and address areas of opportunity and make recommendations
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze assessment data, identify strengths and development needs, and deliver data-driven insights that support talent reviews, succession planning, pipeline discussions, and leadership development planning
  • Identify, scope, document, coordinate, and implement business solution requirements in accordance with program/channel and project goals
  • Direct and lead work by developing and coordinating work plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and training
  • Identify and minimize risks or constraints that would impact program deliverables
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve branch/division/department or cross-organizational areas of concern that may impede or impact other projects/initiatives
  • Maintain/archive program documentation
  • Ensure all assessment activities comply with ethical, legal, and regulatory standards (e.g., ADA, Title VII, EEOC) while maintaining data confidentiality
  • Prioritize and delegate assignments, including project analysis, requirements definition, and implementation of program modifications and enhancements
  • Develop action plans for conducting internal analyses and collaborate with business partners to identify root causes for employee development gaps and establish solutions
  • Manage moderately complex programs
  • Co-lead program management of the Assessment Steering Committee with Talent Acquisition, ensuring governance, vendor alignment, and consistent standards
  • Interact effectively with managers and division/department management concerning program(s)
  • Oversee assessment vendor relationships to ensure high-quality, compliant, and scalable solutions that align with Navy Federal's talent strategy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 5+ years administering and advising on executive-level assessments in an organizational setting
  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Significant understanding of different assessment approaches such as personality assessments, 360-degree feedback, and competency-based tools-with the ability to learn and apply new methods as needed
  • Considerable experience in managing multiple initiatives, and meeting changing requirements and priorities to accomplish objectives and goals, independently or in a team environment
  • Significant experience in collaborating across organizational boundaries and building partnerships across various functions
  • Significant experience working with leadership and management in diverse and complex operational environments
  • Advanced project management skills to include establishing and leading project teams; managing timelines/deadlines/resources; ensuring successful project implementation
  • Advanced planning, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to translate complex assessment data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership and business decisions
  • Innovative thinking skills to solve problems and facilitate the decision-making process
  • Advanced verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including ability to communicate complex terms to all levels of audiences
  • Analytical thinking skills to include summarizing information and clearly identifying key elements, patterns, results, or relationships

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Professional certification in at least one major assessment platform (e.g., Hogan, Leadership Circle Profile, Korn Ferry, DDI, Talent Plus, or similar)
  • Expert knowledge of Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations, and organizational objectives
  • Knowledge of systems and software used at Navy Federal
