Information Technology / Operations Technology (IT/OT) professionals sculpt the technological framework of the organization through the creation and management of scalable and secure information systems. Charged with the development and deployment of solutions, they analyze short- and long-term requirements to enhance system functionality and efficiency. They design and refine software applications, ensuring integration with existing architectural paradigms while also developing network systems and infrastructure to support business needs. IT/OT personnel manage the organization's IT/OT landscape, guaranteeing the reliable operation of servers, databases, and other components of the technology ecosystem. By maintaining a secure and robust IT/OT infrastructure, they uphold the integrity and confidentiality of data while facilitating connectivity and accessibility. Information Technology / Operations Technology personnel continually adapt to technological advancements, ensuring the organization stays at the forefront of emerging IT/OT trends and is well-equipped to meet future challenges while maintaining secure and stable operations.

Discipline Description

IT/OT management oversees multiple domains of the company's IT and/or OT infrastructure, including cyber security, systems administration, network operations, and software development. They lead cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and efficient IT and/or OT operations that align with business objectives. They develop and deliver new IT and/or OT technologies and solutions to meet new business needs and improve efficiency of ongoing operations. They manage IT and/or OT initiatives and customer relationships and ensure adherence to internal and external regulations.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

SRNS is seeking a driven and experienced Manager for the Data Management team who will play a crucial role in establishing a robust data management and governance framework to support digital transformation initiatives and ensure compliance with National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) requirements. This role requires a leader who is a change agent, maintains data standards for security compliance, aligns data with strategic company objectives, and promotes a data-driven culture across the organization.

- Establish robust data management and data governance strategies that maximize the value of data as a critical asset, ensuring data is accurate, available, and accessible.
- Align strategies to transform data into a strategic asset, build a data-centric culture, drive business performance, and foster innovation.
- Implement policies and standards to ensure consistency and ethical use of data across the organization.
- Establish and lead a Data Governance Council to oversee and guide data governance initiatives.
- Manage data integration and transformation to ensure timely data accessibility for authorized personnel, supporting data driven decisions.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive data catalog.
- Promote seamless integration of data across diverse systems and platforms to create a unified and comprehensive data environment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant data protection regulations and standards.
- Design data management practices that are scalable to accommodate future growth and technological advancements.
- Foster a culture of data privacy awareness and educate employees on data security best practices.
- Provide strong leadership in establishing data management and data governance practices.
- Support audits related to data management and regulatory compliance.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data professionals and foster a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and professional development.
- Effectively communicate data governance and data management initiatives to all levels of the organization, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and aligned data management efforts and support data-driven decision-making.
- Support data related Program Execution Guide requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts by evaluating emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data management and governance.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data accessibility, compliance, and utilization.

Required Qualifications

* Eight or more years of experience (YOE) as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed, OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus five or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR Master's Degree in a relevant field plus three or more year of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed
* Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered
* Proficiency in data management technologies and tools (SQL, ETL processes, data warehousing, data quality tools)

We'd Also Like to See

* Prior experience leading or managing data management efforts is preferred.
* Proven experience leading or mentoring a team of data professionals is ideal.
* Experience developing data governance frameworks and data management policies.
* Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL to build and automate data workflows.
* Ability to design and maintain effective data architecture that supports organizational needs, including data modeling, schema design, and the creation of data pipelines.

In addition to the preferred technical qualifications, an ideal candidate for the Data Management Manager would have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, strong leadership and organizational skills, and the ability to adapt and manage multiple priorities.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
