Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Administrator for the department of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, administration, educational, and strategic support of the department. This role ensures efficient workflow, effective resource management, and compliance with departmental policies and procedures. The Program Administrator serves as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and external partners, while supporting leadership in decision-making and long-term planning.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Manages overall operations of the Department of Medicine under the direction of the Sr. Director of Administration.
- Leading and managing the day-to-day functions of the department including supporting the hiring, onboarding and transitioning of faculty and staff; purchasing and supplier management activities; general office operations including scheduling and working closely with Finance on all department financial reporting.
- Works closely with the Chair of Medicine to advance the mission of the department and coordinates with all subspeciality divisions to ensure consistency throughout the department.
- Assists department leadership in strategic planning, data analysis, and special projects across clinical, research and educational missions.
- Prepares reports, presentations, and documentation for leadership and external agencies.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related discipline, plus four (4) years of progressively more responsible professional experience inclusive of day-to-day operational, and program management responsibilities in a business office, government agency or university setting.
- Plus 2 years of supervisory/managerial experience.
- Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
