Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Slitter Operator to join our Atlanta, GA manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate slitting machines to cut large rolls of material into narrower rolls, ensuring precision, efficiency, and quality throughout the production process.

Slitter Operators work in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, handling materials such as paper, plastic, and textiles. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to company safety guidelines and regulations is required.


Responsibilities

Duties will include operating or assisting in the operation of manufacturing machinery, material handling equipment and general plant operations. We are currently on an 8-hour day, 40-hour work week: Monday - Thursday 8AM-4PM and Friday 7AM - 3PM. Employees will be required to work overtime some weekdays and Saturdays, based on production demands.

* Operate Slitting Machines: Set up and run slitting machines to label stock into specified widths.
* Adjust Machine Settings: Modify speed, tension, and blade positioning to achieve accurate cuts across different materials.
* Quality Control: Inspect materials before and after slitting to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
* Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, identify issues, and make necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
* Record Keeping: Document production details including quantities slit, materials used, and deviations from standard procedures.


Qualifications

Qualified candidates will have:

* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in mechanical/technical fields preferred.
* Experience: 2-3 years in a manufacturing environment, ideally with machinery operation experience.
* Technical Skills: Ability to read slitting instructions, perform basic math, and use measurement tools accurately.
* Attention to Detail: Strong focus on precision and quality, with the ability to monitor and adjust machine performance.
* Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and demonstrate good hand-eye coordination.
* Teamwork: Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a production team.
