Marketing Communications is the central marketing and communications arm for NC State. It essentially functions as the university's in-house agency. This unit works with high-level university offices to develop effective communications and marketing strategies and thoughtful collateral to support University efforts. As a sub-unit of University Communications, the unit is responsible for working to empower the brand of NC State through leading-edge marketing, photography, video, design, web and interactive media in a for-fee/chargeback environment.

| Essential Job Duties |
Acting alone or as part of a small team, the video producer tells the many compelling stories of NC State in video format, producing professional-level videos that communicate the NC State brand for use on the web and social media, events and in the media.
When working solo, the position may be responsible for all aspects of video production including: planning shots, setting up lighting, interviewing, shooting video, recording and mixing sound, running teleprompter or any other aspects of working in an independent capacity. The person in this role must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while also working independently, demonstrating creativity and initiative. Strong project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail in meeting deadlines will also be essential in this role.
This position will need to be adept at creating both external and internal videos based on client needs. It will also create or work with individuals to create animations or motion graphics. Additionally, this position is responsible for visually documenting NC State faculty, staff, administrators and events as a historical record of NC State. The position is also responsible for archiving and managing footage for repurposing as b-roll in other video productions. |

Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of visual/graphic arts experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. |
| Preferred Qualifications |
- Mastery of video and audio production, with hands-on experience in related workflows and processes.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere, Photoshop, Lightroom, and working knowledge of AfterEffects or similar animation software.
- Working knowledge of both Mac OS and Windows platforms, with high ethical standards and integrity when handling confidential information.
- Previous video/video-related experience in the professional field.
- Previous experience in dealing with aspects of animation and motion graphics.
