LIIE Program Coordinator in OLPD

The Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD) at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a Lecturer position in the Comparative and International Development Education (CIDE) program. The CIDE program is known for its critical and engaged approach to global education, drawing together diverse perspectives on policy, practice, and theory. We seek an experienced, equity-focused educator and academic leader to coordinate, teach, and co-advise in the Leadership in International and Intercultural Education (LIIE) PhD program, a flexible doctoral program developed for working professionals.

Position Overview
This is a full-time, nine-month appointment, non-tenure-track position with potential for annual renewal. The appointment is set to begin in Spring 2026, depending on candidate availability and program needs. The successful candidate will play a central role in coordinating the LIIE and/or CIDE program and contributing to graduate and undergraduate instruction, advising, and curriculum development across CIDE and OLPD. The candidate is expected to recruit for the LIIE program as well as provide innovative inputs for expansion of other CIDE programs (including future undergraduate, online graduate, or other offerings).

Job Responsibilities
Coordination and Program Development (50%)

• Coordinate the LIIE PhD program, including student recruitment, planning, and program oversight
• Liaise with the CIDE Coordinator, OLPD Department Leadership Team

Teaching and Advising (40%)

• Teach three courses per year, including graduate and undergraduate offerings that support LIIE, CIDE, and OLPD curricular needs.
• Optional teaching and coordination opportunities during summer months
• Advise master's and doctoral students in LIIE and CIDE; provide Ph.D. committee service
• Manage course scheduling and instructor recruitment for the LIIE program and/or the CIDE program
• Participate in admissions reviews, qualifying exams, and academic planning within CIDE and LIIE

Service and Outreach (10%)

• Participate in programs, department, college, university, local/regional schools and other service or civic engagement activities.
• Serve on internal committees, panels, and other department activities.
• Participate in the activities of relevant professional organizations.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in Comparative Education. Education Policy, Higher Education, or other related field
• Experience in international education
• Higher education teaching and advising experience
• Experience with program coordination and strategic planning
• Scholarly expertise in international and comparative education and alignment with other OLPD programmatic areas, with preference for internationalization of higher education
• Demonstrated record of excellence in graduate teaching and doctoral advising
• Track record of curriculum development and innovation
• Commitment to equity-focused pedagogy, critical global perspectives, and interdisciplinary collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in recruitment of students
• Training in qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed methods research

Pay Range: The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000; Final salary offers are dependent on the candidate's experience, skills, and internal equity within the department.
