Role Mission We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented EHS Specialist to lead and support safety initiatives, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, and foster a culture of safety across all levels and locations of the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills, hands-on experience in implementing safety programs, and a proactive approach to risk management. Key Job Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programs. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards. Investigate accidents and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and recommend corrective actions. Collaborate with department heads to identify hazards and implement corrective measures. Coordinate and lead safety meetings, training sessions, and safety drills. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and recommend safety equipment as needed. Monitor and report on safety metrics and trends to leadership. Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, and certifications. Stay current on safety regulations and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance. Provide guidance and support to employees on safe work practices. Competencies Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or a related field. Minimum of three years of safety experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards Relevant certifications, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Safety Technician (OHST), preferred Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Travel required to Kurz sites in WI and IL, most will be single-day trips, but could include some multi-day trips.
