We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on Prototyping Engineer to join a dynamic team dedicated to innovation. In this pivotal role, you will bridge the gap between scientific research and practical application by designing and building sophisticated mechanical and electrical systems. Your contributions will accelerate the development of advanced physicochemical processes and influence the realization of next-generation materials. Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and validate complex mechanical and fluidic systems using both off-the-shelf and custom-fabricated components.
• Develop and fine-tune electrical systems for precise thermal control using PID controllers and other advanced methods.
• Create user-friendly graphical interfaces (GUIs) with Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools to enable seamless lab control of fluidic, mechanical, and thermal systems.
• Collaborate closely with research teams, iterating designs based on feedback and experimental results.
• Prepare and maintain detailed Bills of Materials (BOM) and assist with budgeting and cost optimization.
• Document engineering designs and technical specifications thoroughly for internal use and external partnerships.
• Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Must-Have Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of hands-on mechanical and/or electrical engineering experience.
  
  
  
  
• Mechanical Design & Fabrication Skills:

    Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, NX).

  • Experience with prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, conventional machining, CNC, laser cutting, and water jet cutting.
  • Ability to specify and source electrical components, including heaters, switches, and PCBs.
  
  
  
  
• UI Prototyping:

    Experience coding simple GUIs in Python or similar languages.

  • Proven ability to prototype, test, and troubleshoot hardware systems.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaborative skills.
  
  
  
  

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Experience working with organic materials, chemical solutions, and reactors.
• Experience developing fluidic systems for stirring, pumping, filtering, and chemical compatibility.
• Understanding of heat transfer principles.
