SUMMARY

The Benefits Specialist I is responsible for maintaining and enhancing benefit programs that support team member engagement and wellbeing. This role collaborates with vendors and internal team members to identify opportunities for improvement, streamline processes, and deliver benefit solutions that are impactful and accessible. Focus includes mental health, financial wellness, and inclusive wellbeing initiatives that reflect the diverse needs of our workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead initiatives to increase engagement with benefits, focusing on mental health, financial wellness, and overall wellbeing
  • Develop and execute communication strategies that promote understanding and utilization of benefits through storytelling, campaigns, and personalized outreach
  • Draft team member communications that accurately and professionally disseminate benefit information to team members via intranet, e-mails, or newsletters etc.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for various benefit programs and wellbeing resources, providing guidance and support to team members and leaders
  • Build inclusive relationships across the organization to understand diverse needs and tailor engagement strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with the benefits team and HR to review benefit vendors, benefit plan designs to improve benefit engagement
  • Translate insights and plan design knowledge into continuous program improvements
  • Assist in the implementation of new programs, vendors, and changes to plans and/or administrative procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, math, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in benefits administration or engagement
  • Previous experience with wellbeing preferred
  • Previous experience with data analysis and reporting to measure program effectiveness and engagement outcomes preferred
  • Knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA and IRS regulations preferred
  • Effective communication and active listening skills
  • Shown positive and professional attitude and strong customer service skills
  • Strong leadership, communication, initiative, and interpersonal relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated empathy and understanding of diverse team member needs and life stages
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Strong writing skills
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is a plus

The base pay range for this role is $68,200 - $92,100. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
