Job Title: Engineering Technician Location: Santa Clara, CA 95051 Duration: 6 Months Job Description: Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Independently sets up and maintains benches, testers, and other equipment. Transports, installs, upgrades, and configures complex equipment and components. Collaborates with individuals inside and outside of own function to troubleshoot and perform moderately complex repair work, rework, removal, and modifications to equipment as necessary. Sets up test equipment using hand tools or automatic test methods to perform complex tests of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Guides others and documents test results, KPIs, and other outcomes, and maintains malfunction records. Executes manual and automated test plans and provides input on test cases and test procedures. Reproduces and debugs complex issues. Documents changes to processes or SOP. Tracks the purchasing, shipping/transporting, receiving and usage of inventory and equipment for test labs, field engineering, and business unit projects. Level of Responsibility: Works under supervision. Decision-making affects direct area of work and/or work group Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information. Tasks consist of a limited number of steps and can be referenced using directions or manuals. Top 5 Required Skills General hardware assembly, firmware/OS flashing, and deployment of systems to test benches or racks. Troubleshoots general system boot or connectivity issues Deductive and inductive problem solving is required; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; attention to detail is a must. Good communication skills, written and verbal Experienced with assembly, setup, and deployment of test systems in a R&D environment. Basic/Fundamental understanding of electronics Technologies: Networking LINUX Required Education: High School Diploma, or equivalent, and 2+ years of Engineer Technician or related work experience (Work Experience should in a background that required troubleshooting, problem solving in an electrical engineering tech role) Physical Requirements: Push Max Weight Limit = 30 lbs Pull Max Weight Limit = 30 lbs Lift Max Weight Limit = 30 lbs
