Mobile Behavioral Health Professional - Philadelphia, PA

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or a related field.
• Knowledge of recovery principles and experience working within a recovery-oriented, person-centered service system.
• Strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with city agencies and partners, including the Office of Public Safety, Philadelphia Police Department (PPD), Philadelphia Fire Department, and internal/external stakeholders.

Preferred

• 1-3 years of experience in a human services setting; experience in drug and alcohol treatment strongly preferred.

Merakey is seeking passionate behavioral health professionals to join our Mobile Mental Health Program, delivering critical, life-changing support to individuals in crisis across the community.

The Mobile Behavioral Health Professional serves on the front lines of crisis response and community outreach, working alongside the Office of Public Safety, Philadelphia Police Department, Fire Department, and diversionary courts to connect individuals away from the criminal justice system and into life-saving behavioral health services. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments, value harm reduction, and want to make an immediate impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to community-based behavioral health and substance use crises, providing on-site triage, crisis counseling, de-escalation, and referrals to appropriate levels of care.
• Conduct outreach and case management with individuals involved in diversion programs, courts, and social referrals, maintaining follow-up to support ongoing engagement in services.
• Partner closely with PPD, Fire Department, Prisons, Neighborhood Wellness Court, and other city agencies to coordinate care and provide warm handoffs.
• Complete assessments including ASAM LOC, involuntary commitment applications when necessary, and develop care plans in accordance with program and funding protocols.
• Document all client encounters in Avatar NX and tracking systems while supporting program reporting, court documentation, and quality assurance needs.

Earn $29.38/hour
