About the Role:

As 10X Genomics continues its rapid growth, we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to join the Finance team. This individual will be a key leader, fully responsible for the administration and preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements, meticulous documentation of all technical accounting matters, and proactive implementation of new accounting standards.

This newly created role is critical to the organization, overseeing all aspects of the external financial reporting process, including the preparation of the statement of cash flows and comprehensive footnote support. The Senior Manager/Director will havehigh visibilitywith Senior Finance Leadership and work cross-functionally across all areas of the company. The role reports to the VP Corporate Controller and is located inPleasanton, CA.

What you will be doing:



  • Preparation of SEC reporting documents (10-Q, 10-K, Proxy, 8K)
  • Prepare the quarterly cash flow statement, earnings per share and equity roll forward workbooks
  • Support investor relations in preparation of press release
  • Prepare footnote support schedules, tie-out binders for SEC filings and disclosure checklists
  • Assist with research and preparation of technical accounting position papers - related to ASC 606, and all material events.
  • Collaborate with other members of finance to obtain data for SEC financial preparation
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to manage the financial quarterly review and annual audit process
  • Ensure internal controls over financial reporting, including disclosure controls and procedures, are adequate and operating effectively participate in monthly/quarterly financial close review meetings to ensure appropriate accounting of transactions and for accurate external reporting
  • Review of leases and amortization schedules for global real estate relating to our facility leases
  • Review of Stock-based compensation and schedules
  • Project Manage all material events in the accounting function including due diligence for acquisitions including assistance in valuation of purchase price with third parties and work with Corporate Accounting for the opening balances
  • Assist on special projects as needed.


To be successful you will need:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Business
  • CPA required (MUST)
  • 5+ years of Big 4 public accounting experience
  • 3-5 years of progressive finance and accounting experience in publicly held companies
  • Experience with Workiva preferred (MUST)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
  • Depth in Excel skills and extreme attention to detail
  • Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact with all levels of management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment to achieve results

Below is the base pay range for this full-time position. The actual base pay will depend on several factors unique to each candidate, including one's skills, qualifications, and experience. At 10x, base pay is also just one component of the Company's total compensation package. This role is also eligible for 10x's equity grants, its comprehensive health and retirement benefit programs, and its annual bonus program or sales incentive program.
