A Brief Overview
The Senior Tax Manager manages and coordinates the tax compliance function, ensures the department is proactively identifying tax risk, mitigation, and opportunities to serve the Company's needs, and motivates and supervises staff performance in accordance with Company policies and procedures. This role also oversees the compliance management process and adapts to challenges. This position manages a compliance group by assisting with forecasting future compliance work, delegating work effectively, and resolving related issues.

What you will do



  • Manages and coordinates Federal, International, and Multi-State Income & Franchise tax compliance, provision, forecast, planning, and research.
  • Manages and coordinates the delivery of federal and state income tax returns, including all related analysis and support.
  • Manages, coordinates, and reviews the U.S. tax provision and related consolidated reporting to the foreign parent as assigned.
  • Manages tax personnel to ensure compliance with federal, international, state, and local income tax laws applicable to the Company and the jurisdictions in which it conducts its business.
  • Manages and coordinates the preparation, review, and timely filing of tax returns and annual reports as required in all jurisdictions.
  • Manages the preparation, review, and calculation of foreign tax credit and the 163(j) calculation.
  • Manages and coordinates the Company and shareholder estimated tax payments and all other tax payments due with required tax filings.
  • Assigns, reviews, and prepares responses to all tax correspondence received from taxing authorities as assigned.
  • Manages earnings stripping calculation and prepares related reporting as necessary..
  • Manages, supervises, and trains all tax accountants responsible for federal, state & local income compliance, accounting, and correspondence.
  • Analyzes the depreciation of fixed assets for respective divisions within the Company.
  • Assists in month-end closings.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Tax, Finance, or Accounting Required
  • Master's Degree in Tax, Finance, or Accounting Preferred
  • Combination of eight to 10 years' tax accounting experience, preferably within a corporate tax environment or a combination of experience within a corporate tax environment and a top CPA firm. Required
  • specific work experience in a complex, high-volume environment is strongly preferred. Preferred
  • experience with a tax research database. Preferred
  • experience with JD Edwards-Enterprise One System or other large ERP systems. Preferred
  • Proficient in all tax compliance process software, comparable programs, and standard tax Workpapers.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect and analyze data, and draw logical conclusions.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Advanced skills, including proficiency in the use of Excel and MS Office.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and work independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Requires a result-oriented individual capable of working under the pressures of tight deadlines and who can be a part of a team.
  • Must demonstrate strong attention to detail and knowledge of tax return practices and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills required, particularly the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and vendors.
