DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Leads product planning and manages development of product ideas from conceptualization to placement, in collaboration with key departments across Nintendo.
  • Defines the creative direction for product strategy and development, delivering cohesive merchandise product lines that reflect brand and art intent and support key initiatives and product launches.
  • Aligns with key global stakeholders on brand and execution strategies for OEM/DTC merchandise partnerships.
  • Oversees the production schedule of products for curated merchandise collections, managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Oversees and negotiates appropriate costs, materials, quality levels and IP/asset usage guidance across partners, products and projects.
  • Builds and leads strong creative merchandise relationship with external partners at working group, senior, and executive leadership levels.
  • Provides on-going oversight of creative relationship with partners, including concept design, prototype development and manufacturing, escalation and resolution of issues and concerns.
  • Responsible for leadership, supervision, and guidance to internal artwork and development team members.
  • Researches and analyzes industry trends and manufacturing techniques for merchandise development.
  • Provides leadership, influence and direction acrossmultiple related teams.
  • Solves significant and unique problems that have a broad impact on the business; develops tools/processes to address the issues.
  • Liaises with international teams to drive partnership, category or collection strategy.
  • Leads programs with notable risk and complexity; develops the strategy for program execution.
  • Drives Continuous Process Improvements to optimize systems and processes and increase productivity.
SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in product design, merchandising or relevant experience required.
  • Prior experience leading effective, collaborative teams.
  • Product Development or manufacturing experience required.
  • IP licensing or brand management experience required.
  • Creative Director experience preferred.
  • Experience in market analysis and research, retail management, brand/product development and/or consumer products.
  • Strong leadership, project management and communication experience is required.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Proven track record of relationship building.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent experience.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.
This position includes a base salary range of $169,000 - $304,200 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
