Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Program Coordinator, Graduate Medical Education.

In this role, the successful candidate The GME Wellbeing Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the wellbeing initiatives for house staff and faculty, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and ACGME requirements. This position collaborates with the GME office, affiliate hospitals, program leadership, and house staff to identify resources, promote programming, and provide administrative support for wellness activities. This role plays a key part in implementing the institutional GME Wellbeing Framework by coordinating resources, events, and initiatives that promote a healthy, inclusive, and psychologically safe learning environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with ACGME Common Program Requirements related to house staff wellbeing.
  • Conducts listening sessions for programs with identified house staff wellbeing concerns, summarizes themes, and reports findings and recommendations to the Accreditation Oversight Committee (AOC) for review and follow-up action.
  • Plans and executes annual events such as Thank a Resident Day, and other institutional or national recognition campaigns that celebrate house staff contributions.
  • Assist in the execution of GME wellbeing initiatives, including workshops, speaker series, and wellness events.
  • Coordinate logistics for wellbeing programs such as scheduling, space reservations, and resource distribution.
  • Partners with the GME Office, program coordinators, and institutional departments (e.g., Employee Wellness, HR, and Mental Health Services) to promote awareness and participation in available resources.
  • Serves as a liaison to affiliate hospital wellbeing programs, committees, and champions to ensure coordination and consistency of wellbeing efforts across training sites.
  • Facilitates communication between affiliate site leaders, GME program directors, and the institutional GME Wellbeing Manager regarding wellbeing initiatives, resources, and events.
  • Tracks affiliate wellbeing projects and identifies opportunities for collaboration, shared resources, and cross-campus initiatives.
  • Maintain an updated catalogue of wellness resources and services available to house staff.
  • Serve as a point of contact for residents and fellows seeking wellbeing resources.
  • Develop and disseminate newsletters, emails, promoting wellbeing opportunities.
  • Track trends in house staff wellbeing and contribute to ongoing improvements in wellness strategies.
  • Support crisis response initiatives by coordinating communication and resources for house staff experiencing acute distress.
  • Support scheduling, meeting coordination for GMEC subcommittees such as the House Staff Leadership Committee, and Physician Wellbeing Committee. Prepare and track communications, reports, and documentation related to subcommittee initiatives.
  • Promotes resources that address common stressors for both faculty and trainees, including fatigue, burnout, and work-life integration.
  • Monitors institutional resources that support house staff wellbeing to ensure they are safe, well-maintained, and conducive to a healthy work and learning environment. Collaborates with facilities and affiliate leadership to address concerns, track resolutions, and document ongoing improvements in alignment with institutional and accreditation standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor degree or equivalent in business administration, health care administration or related field. Two years of experience coordinating Project/Programs or programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as World, Excel, Access, Power Point and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to interface effectively with all levels of management and must work and communicate effectively with both internal and external customers. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently. Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Ability to Project/Program manage and to multi task while paying attention to details.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree preferred.
- Familiarity with ACGME accreditation requirements related to house staff wellbeing.
- Experience in wellness programming, mental health advocacy, or peer support coordination.
- Knowledge of crisis intervention resources and institutional support services.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $64,350.00 - $76,262.10 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
