What We're Looking For:

If you are looking for a collaborative work environment where you'll have the opportunity to be part of a team on the forefront of one of the most advanced satellite constellations in the world, then you will be excited about the Bill of Materials Coordinator opening with Iridium for a Space Development Agency (SDA) project. As a Bill of Materials Coordinator, you will play a critical role in the product development and manufacturing process by autonomously creating, maintaining, and optimizing accurate and comprehensive bill of materials for various parts/products. You will thrive in this role if you are detail oriented, excel at collaborating with cross-functional teams and material tracking to provide program visibility to ensure program needs are met within a dynamic growing environment.

This position requires an active/current Top Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a Top-Secret Security Clearance (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

What You'll Do:
    Create, modify, and maintain accurate and consistent multi-level Bills of Material (BOM) and Item Master records to support order management, development builds, and material requirements
  • Collaborate with assigned Subcontract Leads, Purchasing Agents, Program Office staff, Engineering teams, Operations personnel, Logistics, and Configuration Management to develop strategies that meet program objectives
  • Manage material planning lead times and identify material availability, identifying the material need dates, order by dates, receipt dates, and material decision points to be included in project schedules, including forecasting and reservation based on development schedule
  • Assist with developing a thorough understanding of the cost and schedule impacts resulting from changes in the BOMs, and communicate associated impacts and variances with appropriate stakeholders
  • Actively engage in cross functional communication to ensure accuracy and timely creation and maintenance of BOMs and product information
  • Work independently to generate reports and documentation for internal and external use as needed
  • Be responsible for the development of appropriate data quality controls and generate appropriate reports for use in the monitoring system integrity
  • Participate in cross-functional improvement initiatives to enhance processes related to materials management, product development, and logistics
  • Be responsible for developing and executing Supply Chain (SC) strategies and plans for capture/proposal efforts and program execution
  • Serve as the liaison between the Program Executive, Program Managers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and the Supply Chain organization, and be responsible for the development, coordination, and execution of all program material strategies, supply chain objectives, and enterprise objectives
What You'll Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Management or related field OR equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Engineering or Materials Management within an Engineering Development and Manufacturing Organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, e.g. Excel spreadsheets including formulas, sorting large amounts of data, and printing
  • Familiarity with automated procurement and inventory control systems, familiarity with Core Integrator Software is a plus, with ability to support a manual process and systems
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and Visio
  • Proficient knowledge and utilization of hardware and software
  • Ability to perform in a continually changing, go-fast environment
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey products, deliverables, analyses, and/or issues to groups outside of your team or those who are unfamiliar with the topic
  • Have confidence and be able to easily build relationships with leadership and colleagues outside of your team
  • Possess an analytical mindset, with the ability to understand a situation or problem and think critically to make decisions and come up with out-of-the-box solutions
  • Be proactive in providing feedback and be enthusiastic in sharing your knowledge with others
  • Capable of prioritizing your own tasks and potentially the tasks of others while making sure deadlines are met
Things That Would be Great if You Brought to the Table:
  • Supply Chain and/or Materials Management Experience
  • Familiarity with Earned Value Management
We'll also need you to:
  • Be able to work in the office at least 3 or more days a week to foster collaboration with the team and stakeholders
  • Be able to travel up to 10%
  • Be a US Citizen
Work Environment:

This position primarily works in an office setting and is largely sedentary with the majority of the position working with a computer. The role typically requires the use of basic office equipment such as a phone, video, computer, keyboard, mouse, and printer.
