Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Utility Patrol in Nashville, TN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol a dynamic utilities location, helping to deter security-related incidents through visible presence and routine patrols. You will interact with visitors and staff, providing outstanding customer service while upholding our values of integrity, reliability, and teamwork. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the utility location and its perimeter, observing for any unusual activity or potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and help to deter unauthorized entry or suspicious behavior within the premises.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of patrols, incidents, and daily activities as required by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Support emergency response efforts and coordinate with local authorities as directed during critical situations.
  • Remain alert and attentive to potential security-related risks unique to utility environments, reporting any hazards or concerns promptly.
  • Uphold the professional standards of Allied Universal while interacting with staff, visitors, and the public.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least one year of armed security, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
  • Handcuff, pepper spray, and baton experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
