The Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute (ACTRI) at UC San Diego is a National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) hub that provides the infrastructure, resources, and expertise to accelerate high-quality, innovativetranslational research. ACTRI's mission is to translate scientific discoveries into improved health outcomes by advancing clinical research, fostering collaboration, and supporting the next generation of investigators. ACTRI serves as the cornerstone of UC San Diego's clinical and translational research enterprise, connecting scientists, clinicians, andcommunity partners across disciplines to improve human health in the San Diego region and beyond. The ACTRI is led by Davey Smith, M.D., Assistant Vice Chancellor for Clinical and Translational Research and Director of ACTRI. This role provides centralized management and leadership for NIH compliance, program integration, and award execution across NIH funded programs in alignment with the organizations mission and goals. It serves as the lead institutional contact for NIH program staff on compliance-related matters and supervises internal operations for all outgoing ACTRI-funded awards supported under NIH awards, including pilot projects, K12 scholar awards, and NCATS UM1 Element E translational science projects. This role will lead a dedicated team responsible for quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), grant writing, and education and workforce development. It will also coordinate closely with ACTRI Units, including, but not limited to, the following: Evaluation; Finance; Education and Workforce Development; Collaboration, Engagement and Dissemination and Implementation; Center for Clinical Research; Biomedical Informatics, and Center for Community Health. This position will ensure integration, transparency, and compliance across all programmatic and administrative activities. In addition, the role serves as ACTRI's liaison to NCATS hub partners, fostering alignment, strengthening collaboration, and advancing shared strategic goals. The role promotes a culture of collaboration and interdisciplinary teamwork, driving efficiency in processes and fostering authentic relationships with key stakeholders. Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Responsible for supervising the day-to-day unit activities. Normally directs a section or group of analysts. Oversees andparticipates in complex projects and initiatives. Collaborates directly with internal and external stakeholders. Provides direction according to established policies and management guidance. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $88,000 - $161,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $42.15 - $77.39 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
