We're looking for an experienced professional to join our CMG FIG (FinTech) team as a Vice President within our Investment Banking Division. In this role, you will leverage your leadership, strategic insight, and execution expertise to drive business growth, lead deal teams, and deliver impactful solutions for our clients at Goldman Sachs.

Our division works on some of the most complex financial challenges and transactions in the market today. Whether advising on a merger, providing financial solutions for an acquisition, or structuring an initial public offering, we handle projects that help clients at major milestones. We work with corporations, financial sponsors, and venture capital firms and are a team of strong analytical thinkers, who have a passion for producing out-of-the-box ideas.

The FinTech investment banking group provides clients with advice, access to financing, and execution expertise across a wide range of investment banking products, including M&A advisory, debt and equity financing, structured finance, risk management/hedging and co-investing. Given the dynamic and relevant nature of FinTech as an industry, our group offers an exciting and fast-paced environment with tremendous opportunity to contribute and grow.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

Role Responsibilities

Our Vice Presidents play a critical role in developing and strengthening our client relationships, leading our advisory and deal execution teams, and structuring and executing a full range of complex financial transactions. Their responsibilities include managing transaction processes from origination to close, translating complex financial analyses into strategic recommendations, and serving as the primary day-to-day contact for clients. VPs are also responsible for mentoring, training, and managing junior bankers (Analysts and Associates), ensuring the highest quality of deliverables while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Vice Presidents oversee the development of financial models and customized company valuation analyses, and they are actively involved in leading mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions, private placements, and debt and equity issuances. They direct the preparation of client presentations that explain industry trends, assess clients' situations to provide strategic financial advice, and recommend tailored strategies to meet client goals. Additionally, Vice Presidents coordinate and lead multidisciplinary teams of tax advisors, attorneys, and bankers for various transactions; oversee due diligence processes; and actively lead the negotiation of legal documentation. From driving client coverage to structuring complex transactions, our Vice Presidents are vital leaders within Goldman Sachs' banking team.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 4+ years of investment banking experience (with a Master's degree) OR 7+ years of investment banking or equivalent experience (with a Bachelor's degree).
  • History of outstanding academic and professional achievement
  • Strong team orientation and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with team members in multiple groups and regions
  • Previous FinTech / Technology / Software sector experience preferred

Salary Range
The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$300,000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
