WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Prepare parts for thermal spray processes, including proper cleaning, handling, and surface preparation
- Mask, blast, blend, or strip parts as required to meet process and quality requirements
- Pull and stage materials, tools, and equipment needed for each coating operation
- Operate thermal spray equipment to apply coatings using manual, semi-automated, or automated processes
- Interpret detailed sketches, routings, and process control documents to understand dimensions, tolerances, and operation sequences
- Fit and position parts using fixtures, jigs, and robotic equipment as required
- Perform thermal spray operations on a wide range of alloys, including similar and dissimilar materials
- Visually inspect coatings, identify potential defects, and communicate quality concerns
- Demonstrate proficiency in thermal spray processes, including passing Level 2 written and practical qualification tests
- Work closely with senior technicians and engineering to ensure process consistency and continuous improvement
WHAT EXPERIENCE YOU NEED:
- High school diploma or GED
- 6+ months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and understand drawings, routings, safety rules, and procedure manuals
- Strong manual dexterity, steady hands, and good hand-eye coordination
- Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals
