General Purpose:

To serve as a CNC subject matter expert, specializing in troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of Nakamura-Tome and other complex CNC equipment. This role supports production by resolving advanced technical issues, enhancing preventive maintenance practices, and training maintenance staff, while providing on-site support to all Amphenol Aerospace facilities.

Responsibilities:
|
Advanced CNC Troubleshooting and Repair
- Serve as the highest-level technical resource for CNC equipment, with a focus on Nakamura-Tome machines.
- Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-system issues.
- Perform root-cause analysis and develop long-term corrective actions for recurring failures.
- Lead breakdown responses to minimize downtime.
Technical Training and Skill Development
- Train maintenance technicians in performing PM, routine repairs, calibration, and proper diagnostics.
- Assist training coordinator to develop and maintain technical documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
- Support maintenance supervisor in assessing technician skill gaps and recommending development plans.
Maintenance Improvement and Reliability Support
- Evaluate existing PMs for CNC assets and recommend changes to improve reliability.
- Support implementation of predictive maintenance methods.
- Participate in reliability initiatives such as root cause analysis.
Multi-Site Technical Support
- Travel to company other company facilities as needed.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting, machine recovery support, and hands-on training to local teams.
Continuous Improvement and Project Support
- Assist with machine upgrades, enhancements, and controls improvements.
- Support installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing for CNC equipment.
- Recommend improvements that reduce downtime and standardize maintenance practices.

Education & Experience:
|
Required
- 7+ years hands-on experience maintaining CNC machinery, with a strong preference for Nakamura-Tome.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and upskill technical personnel.
Preferred
- Experience supporting multiple facilities or remote teams.
- Experience with predictive maintenance and reliability engineering practices.
- Background in machining, tooling, or CNC programming.
- Lean/TPM/RCM or continuous improvement exposure.

Physical Requirements:
|
- Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently.
- Primarily on-site in a manufacturing environment.
- Frequent exposure to machinery, requiring PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to travel by air and ground transportation for up to 1-2 weeks at a time to other company facilities in New York and Nogales, MX.
