This is a Part-Time Support Staff position at grade 7, with an hourly pay rate of $15.74 to $17.07. The offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College's compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable. Benefits:

Job Summary:
|
The Bookstore Clerk I provides customer service to bookstore patrons by assisting with inquiries, purchases, and returns. This role operates cash registers accurately, processing all forms of payment, and supports inventory management through pricing, stocking, and organizing merchandise. The Clerk I also maintains data in the automated system, creates and processes bookstore orders, and generates receiving documents to ensure accurate recordkeeping and efficient operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
|
1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or experience. 2. One year general office or retail experience. 3. Strong customer service skills. 4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 5. Computer skills. 6. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.

Essential Duties:
|
1. Assist customers in all areas of the bookstore, providing excellent service and support. 2. Operate cash registers and process monetary transactions accurately. 3. Maintain register accuracy by balancing the cash drawer to the register tape daily. 4. Support bookstore management with clerical tasks, including balancing cash reports, analyzing statements, reconciling financial aid transactions, and answering phones. 5. Handle general merchandise tasks such as faxing/calling orders, receiving shipments, pricing, and stocking items. 6. Maintain the inventory control system by adjusting stock items, creating proposed orders, and generating receiving documents. 7. Ensure the bookstore remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
