Application Window Open date: December 16, 2025 Next review date: Wednesday, Dec 31, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Wednesday, Jun 16, 2027 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Assistant Researcher - Division of Experimental Medicine, ZSFG The Rutishauser Lab in the Department of Medicine, Division of Experimental Medicine at UCSF seeks a highly motivated candidate with a PhD or MD/PhD and a background in Immunology to lead funded projects aimed at improving T cell-based therapies to control HIV in the absence of antiretroviral therapy. Our laboratory studies the regulation of HIV-specific T cell function and exhaustion in natural infection and after therapeutic intervention in people. The Researcher will lead studies characterizing HIV-specific CD8+ T cells in various natural infection and therapeutic context, applying methods in high-dimensional single cell analysis (spectral flow cytometry, single cell RNA/TCR sequencing) to assess T cell transcriptional state and function as well as T cell engineering. They will also oversee work by up to two pre- or post-doctoral fellows in the lab, and be expected to assist the PI with writing manuscripts and grants.
