Position Summary Information






Primary Purpose
The Academic Assessment & Program Support Coordinator provides comprehensive support to the Nursing Program by coordinating curriculum mapping, assessment activities, accreditation processes, and general program operations. This role works closely with faculty, staff, and academic leadership to ensure high-quality program delivery, continuous improvement, and compliance with university and accreditation standards. The coordinator also provides essential administrative support that contributes to the efficient functioning of the program.
Essential Functions
Curriculum & Assessment Coordination

  • Facilitate the development, maintenance, and refinement of curriculum maps to demonstrate alignment of course content with program learning outcomes and accreditation standards.
  • Assist with monitoring student assessment and contribute to processes that track progression toward learning outcomes.
  • Manage the collection, organization, and analysis of data related to student learning outcomes, program outcomes, and faculty teaching effectiveness.
  • Interpret assessment data, identify trends, and assist in developing actionable improvement plans.
  • Support the Nursing Program assessment committee or working groups, including scheduling, materials preparation, and documentation.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and periodic revision of the Nursing Program Assessment Plan in collaboration with academic leadership.
  • Prepare assessment sections of accreditation and program review reports.
  • Coordinate the University Assessment Plan and the College of Nursing Quality Improvement Plan (CONQIP).
  • Maintain and organize documentation required for Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation and related data collection efforts.
  • Produce and compile annual reports for each nursing program area.
  • Design, administer, and analyze surveys related to program assessment and improvement.


General Program & Administrative Support

  • Provide general staff support to ensure smooth daily operations of the Nursing Program.
  • Support faculty, program directors, and leadership with scheduling, meetings, documentation, communications, and coordination of program initiatives.
  • Serve as a liaison between the College of Nursing and University Assessment offices; assist with internal and external communications related to assessment and accreditation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine and complex administrative issues with minimal supervision.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; recommend improvements to administrative and operational workflows.
  • Assist with student and program event coordination and event day support.
  • Provide additional operational or administrative support as assigned by program leadership.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience (i.e. Two (2) years of full-time experience in the same/similar position is equal to one (1) year of completed post-high school coursework).
  • Two (2) years of related experience providing administrative support.
  • Intermediate skills in MS Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree.
  • Two (2) years of related experience in higher education. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office suite, experience using databases, and advanced experience in internet navigation and research.
  • Ability to adapt to emerging technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial, including clear, effective, and tactful communication with individuals of varying ages and cultural backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Solid English composition skills are necessary, as well as the ability to create, compose and edit written/typed materials (e.g. reports, emails, narrative, charts/graphs).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions. Ability to assume responsibility and work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of activities, correctly interpret directions, establish priorities, and work well under tight deadlines is crucial.
  • Experience working in a Physician Assistant program or similar professional education program is strongly desired.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment with use of computer and phone. Requires extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion while using computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, stooping and reaching. Occasional lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work performed during standard business hours.
Hiring Range $22.68 - $25.94 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
