Job Title: Hold Inspector


Report To: QA Supervisor


Location: East Plant


JOB DESCRIPTION


Hold inspectors play a key role in ensuring all company and customer quality standards are consistently met. Working under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, they conduct quality tests, perform inspection checks, calibrate equipment, and communicate results to support overall product excellence.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Support production with non-standard items
  • Perform various rework activities as required
  • Disassemble assemblies for inspection or troubleshooting
  • Remove rust and perform cleaning/grease removal tasks
  • Repack components or products as needed
  • Monitor daily quality inspections, check sheets, and equipment calibrations
  • Verify accuracy of the quality-training matrix
  • Serve as a liaison with the QA department on quality issues and corrective actions
  • Act as the lead for in-house sorts and containment activities related to quality concerns
  • Ensure effective communication of quality issues between shifts
  • Monitor production line conditions to ensure quality standards
  • Observe and verify trials and new line start-ups
  • Collect and analyze data to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain and confirm accuracy of all document control processes
  • Complete and manage NCMR (Non-Conformance Material Report) documentation


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES



  • 2-5 years of assembly experience
  • Experience with JDE, including hold transfers
  • Strong understanding of assembly inspection processes
  • Familiarity with heat-treat processes preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. repeatedly if required
  • Ability to sit, kneel, squat, or bend for extended periods
  • Ability to walk or stand for long durations
  • Experience using gauging instruments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to learn and use various software programs
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Requirements

PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS:



  • Lift and Carry: Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 to75 pounds occasionally
  • Standing & Walking: Ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances, often on concrete or uneven surfaces and up and down steps.
  • Repetitive Motion: Capable of performing repetitive tasks, including grasping, lifting, twisting and bending.
  • Hand-eye coordination: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls and make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
  • Fine Motor Skills: Ability to use manual dexterity to operate levers, buttons, and controls
  • Vision & Attention to Detail: good close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus and ensure safe operations, including reading gauges and safety indicators.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to maintain focus and physical energy throughout the workday, which may include handling loads, stacking, and organizing materials in a fast-paced environment.
  • Balance & Mobility: Must have good balance and be able to move freely in tight spaces.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in various conditions including varying temperatures, exposure to manufacturing oils and fluids and moderate noise levels.
