Associate Quality Engineer - starting Summer 2026

As an Associate Quality Engineer, you will contribute to delivering reliable, high-quality applications and products by supporting testing efforts across the development lifecycle.

Note: this role is a hybrid position based out of Hartford, CT.

What you will do

  • Create test designs and execute testing activities using established best practices, methodologies, and analytical processes.
  • Formulate, define, and document system/application scope and objectives in close collaboration with architecture, development, and engineering teams.
  • Work with moderately complex systems/applications and prepare detailed specifications to support development and ongoing maintenance.
  • Gather, document, and analyze requirements for multiplatform applications and ensure project needs are clearly understood and met.
  • Create Python scripts for automated testing and package them in an executable format.
  • Generate automation output reports that provide clear, actionable results for business partners to support comparison and decision-making.
  • Enable Jenkins/GitLab jobs to run automated test scripts when dependent steps are completed.
  • Maintain thorough documentation, project tracking details, and key stakeholder reporting metrics.
  • Recommend project resource requirements to project managers and systems leaders.
  • Perform system/application testing to ensure solutions meet business, technical, and end-user expectations.
  • Support quality assurance functions for assigned projects or teams.
  • Provide day-to-day support for existing applications and assist with troubleshooting performance issues.
  • Identify, determine, and support resolution of moderately complex system/application problems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the testing lifecycle.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 0-2 years of prior testing experience (internship experience preferred).
  • A foundational understanding of software testing principles, tools, and methodologies.
  • Ability to apply analytical processes to understand issues, evaluate potential solutions, and support decision-making.
  • Competence with most phases of testing activities, with readiness to learn and take direction when needed.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
  • Basic understanding of general business concepts and how technology solutions support business needs.

What will set you apart

  • Experience with Quality Center or similar test management tools.
  • Knowledge of client/server and web application development and testing practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate requirements into structured test plans and test cases.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Services including S3, dynamo DB, and step function.
  • Proven experience troubleshooting issues in complex application environments.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for quality, continuous learning, and process improvement.
  • Prior internship or co-op experience in software testing, quality engineering, or application support.

Base Salary Range

$59,700.00 - $82,050.00

The salary range above shows the typical minimum to maximum base salary range for this position in the location listed. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation offered may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
