Job Summary

The Director of Growth serves as F3EA's forward-facing market architect, responsible for shaping and executing the company's long-range business development strategy. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role leads the front half of the pipeline-focusing on strategic market positioning, customer engagement, and early opportunity shaping before solicitation release.

This role drives F3EA's visibility across the SOF, interagency, and federal markets by cultivating relationships with CORs, PMs, contracting officers, industry partners, and innovation stakeholders. The Director of Growth represents F3EA at key engagements-such as SOF Week, AUSA, and government forums-to elevate brand posture, influence requirements, and identify emerging capability gaps aligned with modernization priorities.

The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of the federal marketplace, Special Operations mission sets, and government acquisition processes, paired with a proactive ability to convert engagement, forecasting, and market intelligence into long-term strategic wins that align with F3EA's mission, values, and growth trajectory.

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategic Market Positioning & Long-Range Growth

  • Lead F3EA's long-term growth strategy aligned with CEO guidance and corporate priorities.
  • Identify and shape opportunities prior to solicitation release across SOF, interagency, RDT&E, and federal markets.
  • Maintain awareness of modernization programs, budget trends, and emerging requirements within USSOCOM, OSD, and key agencies.
  • Forecast multi-year demand signals and align F3EA capabilities to future need areas.

Customer Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with CORs, PMs, contracting officers, and federal decision-makers.
  • Conduct onsite visits, capability briefs, and government engagements to influence positioning ahead of RFP release.
  • Coordinate customer meetings, site tours, demos, and strategic engagements to shape future bid opportunities.
  • Serve as the primary external representative for strategic government engagements.

Industry Presence & Brand Visibility

  • Represent F3EA at SOF Week, AUSA, SIA, AUS&R, and relevant technical & industry forums.
  • Elevate F3EA's visibility within the national defense marketplace through targeted engagements and thought leadership efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to refine capability statements, messaging, and strategic branding.
  • Support corporate communication strategy and forward-facing positioning to align with modernization priorities.

Strategic Partnerships & Emerging Ventures

  • Pursue teaming opportunities, technical alliances, and joint R&D initiatives with primes, labs, and innovation cells.
  • Identify and evaluate dual-use opportunities (e.g., VISMOD, Mission Hardware, RDT&E prototypes).
  • Build relationships with academia, research institutions, and technology accelerators to shape long-term capability pathways.
  • Explore commercial/government hybrid monetization avenues aligned with F3EA's strategic posture.

Internal Integration & Strategic Alignment

  • Collaborate and provide strategic insights to the Director of Strategic Business Operations and the J35 Tactical Capture Manager.
  • Ensure early BD shaping aligns with F3EA capabilities, operational strengths, and PMO execution readiness.
  • Synchronize efforts with HR, PMO, Finance, Contracts, and TISS to ensure scalable growth.
  • Translate market intel into actionable recommendations for executive-level decision-making.

Growth Leadership & Future Vision

  • Serve as senior advisor to the CEO on federal market positioning and long-term opportunity development.
  • Maintain a forward-looking growth posture that aligns with SOF modernization priorities.
  • Foster a culture of external engagement, relationship-based BD, and proactive market shaping.
  • Ensure BD efforts reinforce F3EA's mission, core values, and identity as a trusted partner to SOF and federal clients.

Required Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in government contracting, business development, or capture management.
  • Demonstrated success leading BD teams supporting DoD, SOCOM, or interagency programs.
  • Proven ability to forecast, track, and manage multi-year BD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of FAR/DFARS, IDIQ/Task Order acquisition structures, and contract lifecycle management.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and executive presentation skills.
  • Experience developing capture strategies, win themes, and technical differentiators for complex federal bids.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications and Education

  • Prior military or Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience.
  • Familiarity with Shipley or APMP capture and proposal methodologies.
  • Experience building or managing a corporate BD infrastructure within an SDVOSB or small business.
  • Background in managing multi-disciplinary BD teams (technical, operational, financial).
  • Knowledge of pipeline management systems (GovWin, SAM.gov, Salesforce, or equivalent).
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% for conferences, site visits, and customer engagements.

Work authorization/security clearance requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with periods of sitting and screen exposure. Occasional field or site visits to training or government facilities.

Additional Notes

Ideal candidate will be an experienced Business Development Manager or Program Manager with recent military/contract/SOF background and a current security clearance that can manage several projects and programs simultaneously with little supervision and be able to deliver maximum results with limited time and resources. Candidate must thrive in a growing and dynamic environment and be willing to learn and grow.
