Job Summary
This position reports to the Sr. Director of Accounting and Financial Reporting; performing complex accounting tasks, requiring independent judgement on a day-to-day basis, and advanced managerial work.

Supervises a team of professional accountants, coordinates and analyzes financial activities in the following areas: education and general (E&G), general ledger, gift and endowment, and auxiliaries fund accounting. The application of advanced accounting knowledge, including financial evaluation, and skills in the preparation of a variety of complex, regular, and special financial analyses and reports is essential.
Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a related professional field and five (5) years of relevant professional experience, three (3) of which must have been at the supervisory level; OR a master's degree in a related professional field with three (3) years of relevant professional experience, three (3) of which must have been at the supervisory level may be considered qualifying.
Preferred Education and Experience

  • Masters in finance or accounting
  • Significant experience with discounting of future inflows
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft suite

  • ERP Accounting Systems


Other Qualifications
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1) Manage central accounting functions and the accounting team
2) Review and approve analysis, journals, and forms
3) Coordinate monthly and annual financial closes
4) Technology stock analysis, valuation, and review
5) Balance sheet analysis and review of reconciliations
6) Auxiliary enterprise accounting and reporting
7) General revenue reconciliation and state reporting
8) Completion of the USAS annual close and several annual financial reports
9) Functional testing during ERP system upgrades and process improvements
10) Support internal and external audits
11) Other work as assigned by the supervisor
