Position Summary: This strategic role combines advanced business continuity expertise with a strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and their technology dependencies. This role reports to the VP, Head of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), and leads the enterprise-wide Business Continuity (BC) program. It will also support the ERM team in IT risk oversight and operational risk assessments. The ideal candidate can perform complex risk assessments on critical business processes, understand related systems and data flows, and collaborate across business and technology teams to strengthen resilience and mitigate emerging risks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Strategy
  • Develop, maintain, and implement business continuity strategies including risk assessments, business impact analysis, testing and training, and business continuity procedures, aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices (FFIEC, ISO 22301).

  • Plan, execute, and debrief BC exercises for critical business processes, including team member notification tests; document lessons learned and track remediation.

  • Administer Crisis Management and Pandemic policies.

  • Lead governance and reporting for BC metrics and dashboards.

  • Conduct vendor resilience reviews and integrate third-party risk assessments into continuity planning.

  • Continuously improve BC program maturity through gap analysis, benchmarking, and adoption of emerging best practices including potential use of agentic AI.

Additional Responsibilities (IT Risk, Operational Risk & Resilience)
  • Support the ERM team in conducting operational risk assessments.

  • Assist with IT risk oversight by reviewing technology dependencies, understanding data flows, and identifying resilience gaps in critical systems.

  • Collaborate with IT Security and Infrastructure teams to validate disaster recovery strategies and ensure alignment with BC objectives.

  • Provide input on resilience aspects of Model Risk Management and AI Governance.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Work closely with all levels of management and act as a liaison between business line leaders, IT, and ERM to integrate resilience strategies across business and technology domains.

  • Communicate resilience strategies effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Develop and deliver training programs on BC/DR and operational resilience concepts.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required.

  • CBCP, MBCI (Business Continuity) preferred.

  • CRISC or CISM (IT Risk) preferred.

  • At least 8 years of experience in Business Continuity, IT risk management, and/or operational risk, with demonstrated ability to integrate resilience strategies across business and technology domains.

  • Prior experience supporting regulatory exams and audits in a financial services or highly regulated environment.

  • Deep knowledge of FFIEC guidelines, ISO 22301, and other resilience-related standards.

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes and their dependencies on technology, systems architecture, and data flows.

  • Experience performing complex risk assessments on critical business processes and related technology components.

  • Experience in payments and transportation sector is a plus, but not required.
