Salary: Range based on education, experience, and licensure or certification

  • Bachelor's Degree: $25.00/hour + every other Friday paid off
  • Master's Degree: $60,000/annually + every other Friday paid off
  • Additional compensation for certification or licensure (CADC, LPC, LSW, LCSW, or LCPC)

Schedule: Full-Time | Every other Friday off (paid wellness day)

Your Role:

Clinician, Assessment and Crisis Response - Heritage Behavioral Health Center - Clinton, Illinois

As an Assessment and Crisis Clinician, you will be the first point of contact for individuals seeking mental health and substance use treatment in Clinton, Illinois. This role provides same-day access for children, adolescents, and adults, ensuring timely and compassionate care. You will conduct intake, screening, and comprehensive assessments using IM+CANS and ASAM, develop individualized treatment plans, and deliver crisis intervention services.

You will also serve as a Crisis Counselor on the Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) Team, responding to behavioral health crises in DeWitt and Piatt counties. Guided by the philosophy of "anyone, anytime, anywhere," you will provide on-site crisis stabilization, safety planning, and linkage to ongoing care in homes, schools, hospitals, and community settings.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide same-day access assessments for individuals presenting mental health or substance use concerns.
  • Complete intake, screening, and diagnostic assessments using IM+CANS and ASAM criteria.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate referrals for ongoing services.
  • Deliver crisis intervention for individuals experiencing acute behavioral health symptoms.
  • Respond as part of the Mobile Crisis Response Team to community-based crises, including:
  • Conducting risk assessments for suicide, self-harm, and violence.
  • Implementing de-escalation strategies and crisis stabilization techniques.
  • Creating safety plans and connecting individuals to appropriate levels of care.
  • Collaborating with law enforcement, hospitals, schools, and other community partners.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with agency and state standards.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Mental health and substance use disorders, evidence-based interventions, and recovery-oriented care.
  • Crisis intervention models and trauma-informed practices.
  • Community resources and systems of care for behavioral health.

Skills in:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing treatment plans.
  • Applying de-escalation techniques and managing high-stress situations effectively.
  • Building rapport and engaging individuals in crisis with empathy and professionalism.

Abilities to:

  • Work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Respond flexibly to crises in diverse community settings.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, families, and community partners.
  • Maintain composure and sound judgment under pressure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human service field
  • Graduate degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or other human service fields
  • Certification as Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC), LSW, or LPC preferred
  • Required to obtain certification (CADC) or licensure (LSW, LPC) within 2 years of employment
  • Minimum of 21 years of age
  • A valid driver's license, reliable means of transportation, and proof of automobile insurance.
