Responsibilities

SUMMARY

The Sales Account Specialist is a key role within Strattec Security Corporation that supports Sales Account Managers, Sales Directors, and cross-functional teams in maintaining customer relationships while driving sales growth and market expansion. This role combines advanced customer service expertise with sales and marketing support responsibilities. The Sales Account Specialist manages complex customer accounts, ensures accurate order processing, and maintains strong relationships with OEM and aftermarket customers. This position plays a critical part in delivering exceptional customer experiences, optimizing sales performance, and supporting strategic initiatives such as product launches, trade shows, and marketing campaigns.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and skilled in building strong customer relationships while supporting cross-functional initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Customer Relationship & Communication

    Solicits and maintains favorable contact with current and potential customers.
  • Participates in customer-provided trainings, product launch meetings, and problem-solving sessions.
  • Advises sales team of customer service delivery issues and new/revised expectations.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and end consumers.
  • Supports team for visits to customer and Strattec facilities.

Order Management & Scheduling

  • Manages customer product orders from entry to consumption at the customer's plant.
  • Understands and works fluently with Customer Requirements electronic transmission (EDI).
  • Has complete understanding of each customer's scheduling, releasing, and receiving systems, including cumulative reconciliation, EDI releases, and ASN transmissions.
  • Develops and coordinates shipping plans and shipping plan changes.
  • Maintains all current records (including price files, part number setup) and necessary historical data accurately for all products.

Demand Analysis & Delivery Performance

  • Analyzes reasonableness of customer demand to determine over/under demand errors or demand in excess of quoted capacity, and takes appropriate corrective action.
  • Reviews weekly/monthly delivery scores, analyzes root causes of delivery issues, and corrects shipping discrepancies.
  • Has complete understanding of each customer's delivery expectations.
  • Initiates and executes model change coordination with customers and plants to avoid inventory obsolescence.
  • Confirm RMAs and customer concerns are addressed appropriately by quality team.

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Manages effectivity dates for product changes with Production Control Inventory Analyst.
  • Approves freight debit notes and requests PFA's/AETC's when applicable (parts out of Strattec Milwaukee).
  • Coordinates analysis with planners to dispute debit notes with supporting documentation to the customer.
  • Provides timely responses to finance department audit questions.

Marketing & Trade Show Support

  • Attends tradeshows with other team members to help balance the sales team's show schedule.
  • Provides product demonstrations at tradeshows and other events.
  • Supports updates and corrections to product application guides and databases.
  • Assists in development and updates to printed and digital ads, collateral, and sales and marketing material.

Other activities and assignments related to the job as deemed necessary by the Supervisor



Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 or 4-Year College Degree in Business, Marketing, or related area or a combination of Education and Experience of at least 5 years
  • Minimum 4-Year experience in Customer Service position, preferably in the Automotive Industry
  • Experience with MRP/ERP Systems, AS400 Based preferable
  • Basic understanding of Global Logistics
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • Experience with e-commerce or Amazon Vendor Central preferable
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
