GENERAL SUMMARY: Accountable for nursing practice and all operations, including budget for the emergency department at Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. Responsible for policy development and implementation within the emergency department resulting in meeting all professional regulatory and system requirements. Responsibilities include development of patient care systems, collaborative practice initiatives and implementation of quality improvement and safety programs that are aligned with system strategic initiatives. Accountable for establishing collaborative relationships with medical group, hospital and other service line leaders. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Actively monitors the development in the organization and gains support from others for those new initiatives. * Demonstrates leadership behavior that demonstrates all principles of Renewal. * Commitment to achieving system goals related to employee opinion survey and service excellence initiatives. * Represents nursing on various committees and councils * Accountable for any ongoing evaluation process to assure compliance with hospital accrediting and other regulatory agency standards. * Regular contact with Hospital and Medical Group leaders and staff and/or patients to coordinate and interpret service line policies, and procedures. * Leads and of actively participates in quality safety initiatives * Formulates distinctive and integrative strategies directed at securing a competitive advantage. * Actively supports nursing research. * Utilizes evidence base practice to revise policies and procedure. * Participates in community activities and or professional organizations. * Represents HFHS by promoting an atmosphere of care, concern, pride and respect to internal and external customers. * Regular contact with financial administrators for planning, monitoring and evaluation of service line budget and expenses. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * Bachelor's degree in Nursing or completion of other formal nursing education necessary to obtain/maintain an advanced practice nursing MI license (mid-wife, CRNA, CNS, or Nurse Practitioner) is required. * Masters degree in Nursing, Business Management or other related field required. * Emergency Department leadership experience preferred. * Current license to practice in the State of Michigan as a Registered Nurse. * A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as an RN. * Three to five years progressive clinical leadership experience Additional Information
